In January 2006, Singapore welcomed 767,000 visitors, registering a 14.8% growth over the same period a year ago. Visitor days were estimated to
reach 2.7 million, an increase of 14.1% in comparison to January 2005.

China (82,000), Australia (63,000), the UK (46,000) and Japan (45,000) were Singapores top five visitor-generating markets
in January 2006. These markets accounted for 51% of total visitor arrivals for the month.
Singapore gazetted hotels recorded
Sin$98 million in room revenue, an increase of 11.7% over January 2005.
The Average Room Rate (ARR) in January 2006 was estimated at
Sin$147, an increase of 14.8% over January 2005. The Average Occupancy Rate
(AOR) for hotels was estimated to have reached 77% in January 2006, a 2 percentage points decline over January 2005.
