Beginning
November 15, American Airlines and Air Sahara, will feature reciprocal frequent flyer privileges
that allow members of American’s AAdvantage program to earn and redeem miles when traveling on flights operated by Air Sahara, one of the fastest-growing private
sector airlines in India. Likewise, members of the Air Sahara Cosmos program may earn and redeem miles when traveling on flights operated by American.
In addition, subject to government approvals, American plans to put its AA code on Air Sahara flights to 26 destinations including Delhi, offering a more seamless
customer experience to its customers traveling to India and beyond. Air Sahara, in turn, will place its S2 code on American's transatlantic flights between Delhi and
Chicago O'Hare and select destinations beyond Chicago.
“Our agreements with Air Sahara will broaden American’s network in South Asia and will position AA to compete very effectively in this region” said Henry C. Joyner,
American's Senior Vice President-Planning.
As a special promotion, AAdvantage members can earn an additional 7,500 bonus miles on select economy class fares or 15,000 bonus miles in First Class for round-trip
travel on nonstop service completed between Chicago and Delhi, November
15, 2005, through February 15, 2006.
