Continental
Micronesia is to reinstate non-stop services between Hong Kong and Guam effective November 7, 2005.
The airline currently serves Hong Kong – Guam via a stop in Saipan.
The airline
cited weak demand into Saipan as a reason for eliminating the stop between
Hong Kong and Guam. “The majority of the customers from Hong Kong were destined for Guam
and the revised schedule will provide more convenient service for those customers,” said
Continental Micronesia President and Chief Executive Officer Mark A. Erwin.
A
special 4 Days / 2 Nights air and hotel package to Guam is available from HK$2,890.
Customers traveling on the non-stop flight from Hong Kong will be able to make an
onward connection to Honolulu after a one hour layover in Guam. “The new
non-stop schedule will also provide our Hong Kong customers with a convenient connection to Honolulu, Hawaii,”
Erwin continued. Total travel time from Hong Kong to Honolulu via Continental’s hub in Guam is
up to five hours shorter than on airlines that transit Tokyo’s Narita International Airport.
Continental operates daily non-stop
services from Guam to Honolulu and on to Houston using a B767 aircraft with 20 BusinessFirst seats and 236 economy class
seats.
