The Seagull
Hotel in Shaghai, is joining WORLDHOTELS.
The 130-room Seagull, which is nearing completion of an extensive renovation to transform it to an elegant European style boutique hotel, joins newly re-branded
WORLDHOTELS as a First Class Collection member on May 1, 2005.
The hotel, which is well equipped for business travellers, occupies one of the most enviable and stunning locations in Shanghai, recently described by Time magazine
as the “world’s hottest city”.
Situated right at the confluence of the city’s two rivers it
offers stunning panoramic views of both the historic Bund district to the west and the futuristic skyline
of Pudong in the east. The New York Times commented recently that The Seagull’s location even rivals that of the famous historic Peace Hotel.
The Seagull’s newly renovated Executive Rooms on the third and fourth floors of the hotel have been refurbished in an elegant classical European style which features
velvet drapes, gold brocade finishes and oversized comfortable beds.
Guests of the Executive Rooms also have access to the exclusive and elegant Executive Club Lounge, a comfortable, classical haven in which to relax, take breakfast or
enjoy early evening cocktails.
During the months of April until August, guests of the new Executive Rooms also receive a number of special privileges including a 50% discount on
minibar, complimentary coffee breaks, daily newspaper and complimentary pressing of one laundry item. The renovation of the executive floors is now complete, and the hotel’s
other room categories will also complete refurbishment by the end of 2005.
The hotel’s upper floors feature a number of elegant private Chinese-style dining rooms which are ideal for entertaining guests, and the hotel is well equipped with VIP
meeting rooms that overlook the river, as well as a large conference centre for bigger events.
The Seagull is the third Shanghai hotel to join WORLDHOTELS, following the First Class Collection member, Cypress Hotel, and Deluxe Collection member, Mayfair Hotel
Shanghai.
WORLDHOTELS’ fast-expanding Asia Pacific portfolio now numbers over 75 hotels and resorts, of which 20 are in the
PRC.
WORLDHOTELS last year generated over 212,000 room nights and a revenue of US$35 million from Asia Pacific towards its almost 500 member hotels world-wide, an
increase of 24% over 2003.
