Qantas
is to add a fourth weekly service to Shanghai from November and a fifth flight to Johannesburg from December.
Qantas Head of Sales and Marketing Rob Gurney
commented
on the additional flights, "The introduction of a fourth Shanghai service follows the successful launch of three weekly non-stop services from Shanghai in December 2004," he said.
"Our fourth service will operate on Saturdays from 5 November and provide almost 300 additional seats between Australia and China.
"The growing trade relationship between Australia and China has boosted demand for business travel and we are also seeing a significant increase in leisure travel in
both directions."
Qantas two-class Airbus A330-300 aircraft operate flights on the Shanghai route.
Qantas
is also adding a fifth Sydney-Johannesburg service to its network from
December.
"The additional Johannesburg flight will operate on Saturdays from 4 December, initially operating via Perth until non-stop services from Sydney begin in February
2006," Mr Gurney said.
"In recent years we have added a supplementary service over the Christmas school holiday period but we are pleased to announce a fifth scheduled service will
continue from February."
Three-class Qantas Boeing 747-400 aircraft operate non-stop flights between Sydney and Johannesburg.
