Two employees from Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific
received highest accolades at the annual Carlson Honours Awards, held in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 1st.
Cai Shuo, director design & construction for Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific, was awarded the highly esteemed Order of the Golden Rose, while Kazuhisa Matsui, guest
relations manager at the Radisson Hotel Narita Airport (Tokyo) received the prestigious Carlson Fellows in Employee Achievement. Marilyn Carlson Nelson, chairman
and CEO for Carlson Companies, presented the two awards.
Shuo, who is based in Shanghai, was awarded the Order of the Golden Rose in Employee Achievement in recognition for his extraordinary contributions to the
company. The Order of the
Golden Rose honours Carlson colleagues who translate the company strategy into meaningful actions.
The unique knowledge Shuo possesses of both Western and Chinese cultural and business practices, as well as his experience in hotel operations and design, are an
invaluable asset to Carlson’s goals of hotel growth in China and throughout
Asia Pacific. Carlson currently has four hotels under construction in China: two Regent
luxury hotels, one upscale Radisson and a full-service Park Plaza.
Following his Employee of the Year Award last year, Kazuhisa Matsui has now been named the winner of the Carlson Fellows, which celebrates outstanding
career achievement and commitment. The guest relations manager for the Radisson
Hotel Narita Airport lives and breathes Radisson’s “Genuine Hospitality” service culture
and has demonstrated this throughout his remarkable service at the hotel for 25 years.
President of Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific, Paul Kirwin, commented on the
honours, “We are extremely proud of both Cai and Matsui-san’s ongoing achievements, tireless
commitment, loyalty and enthusiasm. The extraordinary efforts of both these men make them worthy winners of these two important awards.”
