Cruises' SuperStar Gemini has returned to Singapore to commence a brand new 7-night
cruise itinerary departing weekly from Singapore. The new itineraries will see
SuperStar Gemini call at 16 destinations across Southeast Asia and Hong Kong from this month
until the end of 2006.
The itineraries are a combination of 7 and 21-night cruises to destinations such as Port Klang
(Kuala Lumpur), Langkawi, Penang, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching in Malaysia, Krabi, Phuket, Koh
Samui and Bangkok in Thailand, Sihanoukville in Cambodia, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Halong Bay and
Danang in Vietnam.
The new itineraries will include a number of maiden calls by SuperStar Gemini to Bangkok and
Koh Samui in Thailand, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu in East Malaysia as well as Nha
Trang, Danang and Halong Bay in Vietnam. It will also be the first time that a Star Cruises ship will call at
Sihanoukville in Cambodia. The overnight call to Halong Bay will allow passengers to visit exotic Hanoi in Vietnam’s north. Together with Phuket, Bangkok and Ho Chi
Minh City, this brings to 4 destinations in Indochina where SuperStar Gemini has overnight
stops.
The new season will once again see SuperStar Gemini being home-ported in Singapore after an
absence of two years since her seasonal deployment there in October 2003.
The introduction of longer itineraries have been designed to provide a more relaxing cruise
holiday to cater to more sophisticated cruise passengers on a ship that has
proved to be very popular with the Australasian and European markets.
“The active fly-cruise market into Singapore will now see an added flow of inbound tourists with
the basing of a second Star Cruises ship here as we intensify our international sales and
marketing efforts to promote these cruises”, said Mr. Chong Chee-Tut, Star Cruises Chief
Operating Officer.
“Apart from the many itineraries on offer, cruisers now have a choice of a cruise holiday on the
larger SuperStar Virgo or a more intimate destination-intensive cruise experience on SuperStar
Gemini“, he added.
Guests can expect a new and exciting onboard experience in terms of dining and recreation
facilities with the ship having undergone a two week dry-dock exercise in
preparation for the new itineraries. A varied entertainment programme with new classical and contemporary acts is also
among the highlights specially arranged.
The entertainment line-up will also see the return of the
popular award winning Colin Kerr as Cruise Director. His unique brand of witty
humour, talent, spontaneity and stage presence has wowed audiences on Star Cruises ships previously before he moved to Norwegian Cruise
Line (NCL) for a brief stint where he won NCL’s Best Cruise Director of the Year
award in 2004.
The 7-night Straits of Malacca cruises to Kuala Lumpur/Langkawi/Krabi/Phuket and Penang on
SuperStar Gemini start from Sin$1,399 per person, which includes shore excursions at all the
ports-of-call for departures before end March 2006.
Apart from its 400 cabins, the cruise vessel is also equipped with six restaurants and bars,
a swimming pool, hair salon, spa, karaoke rooms, and much more.
