Peter Kiefer
has been appointed as General Manager of the Radisson SAS Resort, El
Quseir in Egypt.
Kiefer (42), a Swiss/British national, will be based in Cairo during the pre-launch phase of the new resort, which is due to open its doors in December 2005. The married
father-of-two joins Radisson SAS having gained extensive hospitality experience since graduating from the Ecole Hôteliere de Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1988.
His 17-year career has taken him across three continents, including eight years’ experience in Egypt, in Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh. His most recent appointment comes
after three years as a General Manager of Disney’s Hotel New York at the famous Disneyland Resort Paris, France.
Jean-Marc Busato, Vice President, Rezidor SAS Hospitality Middle East,
said, “Peter’s knowledge of the industry in general, and Egypt in particular, is a vital asset to
Radisson SAS. His extensive experience will form the backbone of the new resort and we are confident the opening will be a huge success.”
Peter Kiefer will move to El Quseir in the summer to prepare for the
resort’s opening. The new property will become Rezidor's fourth in Egypt, after the
Radisson SAS Resort Taba, the Radisson SAS Resort, Sharm el Sheikh and the all-inclusive Golden Resort.
“I am really pleased to be back in Egypt, and looking forward to working with Radisson SAS. The best thing about this industry is that you keep learning; I’m lucky to be
part of another opening and very excited about the challenges to come,”
said Kiefer.
