The first phase of Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort F$35M renovations
was recently completed with the total refurbishment of its 436 guest rooms, suites and
bures.
The
new interior décor of the 436 rooms is contemporary Fijian, with earthy colours and soft lighting
creating a serene ambience. Natural bamboo finishing’s and artwork enhance
its charm. All this complemented by carefully selected soft white linen.
General Manager Mr David Hopcroft
said, “with the rooms now fully completed, guests are now entering an era of modern luxury stay at the resort”.
All of the resort’s 436 rooms face the majestic Pacific Ocean best viewed from each room’s own balcony or
patio. In addition, the resort has also introduced two new room categories – the Ocean Premier Room and the Deluxe Ocean Premier. Ideal for couples and honeymooners, the twenty-two Ocean Premier Rooms and eleven Deluxe
Ocean Premier rooms are located in the quieter side of the island within the Coral Wing.
Projects that are still underway include the resort’s new 650sqm Davui Event Centre, gymnasium and Chi Spa. Expected to be completed
mid 2006, the Event Centre will enable the resort to host conferences and incentives market, both large and small. The resort also recently acquired an 810sqm Pavilion, which was showcased at
the 2005 Bula Fiji Tourism Exchange held at the resort from 8 – 11 June this year.
Other projects
include the much anticipated Chi Spa. Featuring eight individual treatment bures, the spa will have uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean or the
surrounding rainforest.
“Chi, the Spa at the Shangri-La” will embrace a holistic approach to physical and spiritual wellbeing. At the Chi, guests will be encouraged to relax and be rejuvenated in
the healing waters of the pool, sauna and steam rooms. Release tension, tone the body, revitalize and rejuvenate in the unique therapies and treatments of the Chi
Spa.
