Chris Moon, an accomplished writer and speaker who talks with authority from a practical, academic and inspirational perspective, will be the keynote speaker at the 8th
International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) scheduled for 15-17 March
2005.
Moon attended Britain’s Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, and was commissioned into the Royal Military Police. He also served in several infantry units. After leaving
military service, Moon worked for a British charity specializing in land mine clearance, an experience he considered to by the ultimate management and humanitarian
challenge. In Mozambique in 1995, Moon was severely injured by a land mine while walking in what he thought was a cleared area. He lost his right arm and leg. Through
sheer determination and his high level of physical fitness, Moon was able to recover, overcome his injuries and embark on his work with seven charities, including
raising funds for land mine victims. Moon describes his work as “a privilege for which I am grateful to have the opportunity.”
“This is a man who leads by example and his actions and achievements speak for themselves,” said IHIF co-host Jonathon Worsley of CB Richard Ellis Hotels. Added
Worsley, “He challenges the concepts of limitation, facing difficult issues and confronting the fear of failure. IHIF delegates will truly be inspired by what Mr. Moon has to
say.”
The IHIF is
one of Europe’s largest and most important conferences for hotel investment professionals. Last year’s record attendance exceeded the 1,000 mark and is expected
to be even stronger this year. Hosts of the event are Advanstar Communications, BHN and CB Richard Ellis Hotels.
