Perhaps
even more famous than Cannes, the historical Saint Tropez in Southern
France is one of the most popular and beautiful of France's holiday hot
spots. In the peak season of August, what seems to be half of France
descends on this picturesque town and its surrounding areas, for the
annual vacation. Saint
Tropez is definitely a place to be seen and is a popular hangout for the
rich and famous. Million Dollar yachts line up along the harbour, which
is bordered by restaurants and cafe's all packed with locals and
tourists alike. Saint Tropez is a very happening place and has an
excellent nightlife, some incredible restaurants and numerous picturesque
beaches all around. You
do not need to be in the centre of Saint Tropez to be able to enjoy all
the town has to offer. The region in which Saint Tropez finds itself is
scattered with some beautiful small towns, villages and beaches. Two
of the best hotels in and around Saint Tropez are the Château de la Messardière
and Villa Belrose (in Gassin). The 115 room Château de la Messardière
is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World and is open from around
the end of March to mid October. This stunning hillside hotel offers
travellers some breathtaking views of the sea and the Bay of Saint
Tropez. The Vila Belrose, open from mid-March to end-October, is another stunning property, and is a member
of the Relais & Chateaux group which by itself, speaks volumes about
the level of service and luxury you can expect at this hotel. The Villa
Belrose is set in a private estate overlooking the Bay of Saint Tropez
and with only 38 rooms offers travellers a highly personalised escape. While
those two properties may well be the best hotels in Saint Tropez there
are hotels to suit any budget, some of the other leading hotels in Saint
Tropez include, La Bastide de Saint Tropez, Le Byblos, La Mandarine, La Ponche, Résidence de la Pinède,
La Tartane, Le Yaca, Villa Marie, and the Château de Valmer. |
