From time
to time, we do get side-tracked and create a page about something other
than just travel. These pictures of sunflowers are one such example of
this. While not strictly travel related, sunflowers are so beautiful and
often do bring a smile to most people that see them growing freely in
fields. The pictures of sunflowers below were taken at Farm
Chokchai in Nakhon Ratchasima province of Thailand.
Farm
Chokchai is primarily a domestic Thai tourist destination, that offers
tours around its mammoth farm, educating Thai's, as well as a few expats
and foreign tourists, on milk and ice cream production in addition to
the general running of a farm. Do take a look at our Pictures
of Farm Chokchai if it is of interest.
While the
tour we were on stopped in all the official places, for some reason it
failed to stop at the sunflowers, despite 80% of the tour guests being
children. It would have been interesting - although not dairy related in
the slightest - to learn a little more about sunflower production and
the numerous products that come from this stunning flower and plant, and
it would have made for great photo opportunities, especially as the
sunflowers are taller than most of the children on the tour caravan!
